These “Warrior Monks” wealth, influence and power were most of the reasons of their hearing and were then removed by King Philip of France.
The small village is huddled up to its commandery (Knights Templar since the 6th century, and a hospital from 1312 to 1789), you can notice the use of half-timbered architecture around the main square as well as rampart stone walls.
